In this chapter, the main Jewish church began to realize the Gospel was not just for Jewish people, but also for the whole world. Apostle Peter returns to Jerusalem after his encounter with Cornelius. The other apostles were not pleased with Peter’s actions. He had to explain himself and could not argue with what he saw Holy Spirit do in a gentiles home. The other apostles were reluctant about this at first, but as things changed, God commanded that the Word was to be preached to everyone.

In this chapter, we see Jesus miraculously reveal himself to a man who wanted nothing to do with Him – Saul. Saul was a young and zealous religious leader who was determined to stop the preaching of Jesus Christ, and after encountering Him, believing and being filled with Holy Spirit, he began to preach in the name of the Lord in the same synagogue’s he previously planned to arrest believers.

Chapter 8, is the first of the chapters which are the second major section of the Book Of Acts – when the church enlarged to Judea and Samaria. Apostle Peter was still a leader at this church. The gospel is spreading, multiplying, changing lives and breaking traditions. This was in 36 A.D and 40 A.D. The mission was the transition from evangelizing in Jerusalem into Judea and Samaria.

Chapter 7 deals with the defense of Stephen, a disciple and a deacon in the early Church who was moving among the people, performing miracles and preaching. The high priests of the synagogue grew angry and jealous of Stephen. He was accused of blasphemy, had false witnesses and therefore jailed.

In this chapter, we find Peter and John healing a crippled man as they continue to tell people with boldness about Jesus Christ. The two Apostles set out to a temple called ‘Beautiful’, as it was the ninth hour: 3pm, a time for prayer. They went together to the temple, not to attend the daily sacrifice, which was fulfilled by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, but to attend the duty of prayer as well as have an opportunity to preach Christ where there was a number of people.

Acts Chapter 2 begins with the feast of Pentecost – a religious custom that Jews celebrate. They travel to Jerusalem from different parts of. the region to celebrate this feast. Since the Apostles were still in the city, they participated in the feast, along with other followers of Jesus gathered in an upper room in the city. It was at this time that they received the filling of the Holy Spirit.

AMI was founded by Mr. Sikhumbuzo Mkhize and Mrs. Bonani Mkhize in March 2008. Over a period of 30 years prior, they have two diplomas from bible training, have served as Board members of a local church in Cape Town, served as senior leaders in a church in KwaZulu-Natal, as well as served in Prison ministry and International Prayer movement in Africa. AMI is a family of ministries with different assignments but with the same vision to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations.
